The Obituary

On July 23, 1935 the sun rose for the first time for our beloved Charles "Amos" Winn. As the fourth son born to the loving union of his parents, Alva Mae and Robert Winn, he brought love and laughter to their growing family. Charles was reared in a Christian home in the midtown area of Columbus, Georgia where he attended the local schools.
In 1963 our hero, Charles Winn left the security and comfort of his parents home in Columbus, Ga for job opportunities in Detroit, Mi, the Motor City. He was employed with Detroit Steel Products for many years until retirement as a result of disabilty. Charles was devoted to his family, his many calls, cards and visits will be sorely missed. He was also a good friend and neighbor having purchased and maintain a home in Detroit's Chandler Park area.
On March 17, 2001, the sunset for the last time for our beloved Charles Amos Winn so he quietly laid down his burden, gently closed his eyes and went home to be with the Lord for eternal peace and rest.
The Life and love of Charles will be remembered by his wife Willet Winn; his mother Alva Mae; daughters Denise, Patricia, Rena (Victer) and Audrey; son's Nathan and Edward; two sisters, Willene Burt and LaChorn Harris of Columbus,GA; one brother Lorenzo of Columbus, GA; four grandsons; Maurice, James, Nathan Jr., Kersaun; seven granddaughters; Tynesha, Dominik, LaTasha, Sharay, Carissa, Britney and Danyia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
